Daily Devotional – July 12

 I Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not;

The consuming flames of jealousy are as cruel as hell (Song of Solomon 8:6). What is jealousy? Jealousy is a feeling of displeasure caused by the prosperity or joy of another, coupled with a desire to wrest the advantage from the person who is the object of one’s envy. The loving person will rejoice at the success of others. Jealousy has destroyed many a home and church.  Jealousy is also the destroyer of many a relationship.

Jealousy comes in all shapes, types and sizes.

  1. It’s just like the Bible says in Song of Solomon 8:6, jealousy is as cruel as the grave.

  2. The devotional is a stern reminder that we must remember what love really is and act accordingly.

    The frazzled man is another story. He is too cute to dislike, despite his ugly ways.

  3. My sister married a man who was very jealous and possessive. At first she like this because she thought that it increased her worth in the relationship. Unfortunately she didn’t see it for what it was and her relationship developed in accordance with Solomon 8:6. It was a terrible thing…

    No jealousy, no envy.
