INTERVIEW WITH A CHURCH GOING CHRISTIAN

An interesting interview with a contemporary Christian:

So tell me, Anna, why do you go to church?I go to church in order to grow spiritually.I see. Can you describe to me what your church gatherings are like?

Sure. Our church services are essentially the same each week. First, the greeters give everyone a bulletin that gives announcements and tells about special events during the week. We then have praise and worship. I love the worship team at our church, and I enjoy the songs and the music.

Today’s Thought – January 2

 Second String Christians

Growing up I never wanted to be a second stringer. I was proud to play first string. I remember, though, a somewhat arrogant pity for those guys who sat on the sideline watching us win the game–only called on if we were stomping the visiting team so far beyond recognition, that even playing  second stringers could not lose the game.

First or second string Christians should not exist in The Body of Christ (The REAL Church). We are quick to push down those we rate as inferior as quickly as we promote others.

We thrill to the discussion of “leadership” and “church leaders” along with concepts so dated that one cannot help but think of the “favored star quarterback jock who got his choice of the cheerleaders.”

To what string have you been assigned?

To what string have you assigned?

Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Today’s Thought – October 26

WHAT ARE WE THINKING?

  • How many of you would like your open heart surgery performed by a college kid whose surgical experience and knowledge amounted to the disection of frogs?
  • How many of you would like your neighborhood nuclear power station operated by an engineering student whose sum total of nuclear theory exposure was Avogadro’s number?
  • How many of you would like to travel the expressway in an automobile designed and built by a entrant into a junior high soapbox derby?

Its interesting that we require more scholarship, more learning, more education in the people whose jobs are superficial in comparison to the most important role of all–the teaching of the Word of God.

Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

PROVERBS 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
